Meet Author JaNay Brown-Wood

I know I am late to the party but about a year ago, I discovered the work of author JaNay Brown-Wood. I happened upon a book we were using at the preschool for math and sensory–Too Small Tyson. I loved the book and wondered about other books by this author. Wow–was I in for a treat!

JaNay Brown-Wood is one of my favorite new-to-me authors. But she is not so new and she definitely deserves a “favorite author” basket in every K-3 classroom. 

Not only is the variety of books something worth celebrating but I could tell when I read the first few books that JaNay Brown-Wood must have an early childhood background. And I was right! They are written so perfectly for young readers.

She has rhyming books, math stories, fairy tales, early chapter books and more! So many incredible books for young readers. And she has several new books coming soon!

JaNay Brown-Wood also has an incredible website with resources for early childhood educators as well as a weekly video “Jammies With JaNay” This is an incredible resource for families, caregivers and teachers.
